Welcome — Committing to Learning, Growth, and Purpose

Some words of wisdom shared in Mr Chan’s opening address closely align with our desired learning attitudes in the Mathematics classroom.

Below is advice from your seniors (2025 S1) as they reflect on their journey.

Always remember your basics first
Always think you don’t know anything so you have to go learn everything
Ask questions if you don't understand any concept or question
Ask questions if you're unsure (through email, WhatsApp, class chat, etc)
Ask your math teacher if you come across a math problem that you are unable to answer or if you do not understand a topic that well. They are kind and will not bite if you need help.
Do not stress too hard on mathematics, and always try to pay attention in class. If unsure, go ask your classmates and teacher for help.
Do your best
Don’t forget old subjects
Don't ignore certain certain assignments or ignore what is said in class
Don’t stress and pay attention
Focus in class
Honestly if you’re struggling with math, just take 5-15 min to do some math practice everyday or during weekends and it can help
I think you should not try to over complicate it, simply learn well and try not to be too stressed over work
Just do more revision
Just do well and do your homework (the side effects of not doing hw is deadly)
Just listen and everything will be easy
Just make time for studying and it will be very easy.
Just practice and revise math which is useful
Just practice questions especially those of topics that are confusing and do not hesitate to ask questions to clear up any confusion as soon as possible.
Listen for the last few subjects just trust me 🙏
Manage time
Pay attention to new sub-concepts. You may think Secondary one is just expansion on what you have learnt but the new logic you have to use will surprise you.
Practice Math. Do papers and questions.
Remember all algebraic concepts well and you don't need to memorise all the mensuration formulas as it will be given to you but it's still good to do so (so just pay attention during class)
Remember the formulas
Repeatedly do many questions to have the habit so doing questions in the exam will be fast and smooth
Revise on a notepad and take notes and revise them before exams
Start studying latest by March because the topics covered require a lot of memorising
Study a bit every day so it adds up
Study a lot more for algebra and do not hate maths.
Study consistently
Take a deep breath and don’t over think it
Take notes, focus and check work
They should listen attentively to classes and should always force themselves to try and understand everything the teacher is talking about, submit homework on time, read the study notes and do past year SST practice papers.
They should listen because as longa s you know what to do you will do ok
Try to read a little on new topics to get an idea of how it will be like and it helps to make the topic easier to understand
Try your best to keep up with the work and lessons
Understand first then memorise the topics
