  • LINK - to remove the common factor first



(e) There are several ways to approach this question.
Primarily... to extract the common factor across all terms first OR doing that as the last step (which is an often forgotten step). 

Included here are clips that demonstrates 2 ways to factorise by extracting the common factor first.

  • LINK - recognising "1" as a common factor for one of the pairs of the terms. [New!]
